This happens quite some time ago. I was a little hesitant to share the story at the beginning, but then decided what-the-heck there’s no harm sharing. So, here goes…
Not so long long time ago…in the land of the hornbills, a group of young and enthusiastic film makers are casting for some fresh talents to be featured in their upcoming film projects. With the collaboration of Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) and Angkatan Zaman Mansang (AZAM), the casting session took place in Wisma Pelita, Kuching.
Showing up during the casting session, I was a little surprised because there were more crews then the participants shows up that day. Thus, I immediately earn my spot *coughiamsogoodcough*.
And so the days goes on and passes by…
About a month later, I was called to report for the short film story preview and discussion and a week later, the shooting began. As early as 5am and end up pretty late sometimes, the shooting took place mostly in Kota Samarahan area. I had so much fun having to rehearse and shooting with the crew.
The short film Kopi Love is about two orphans, Hassan and Ahmad. Hassan, the older brother is a special guy with autistic issue. Meanwhile, Ahmad being the younger brother is a young successful guy who has to sacrifice a lot to take care of his autistic older brother. The story is about family, love and sacrifice in a cup of coffee.
Here’s the full movie exclusively for you. There’s so much room for improvements in the future, but we nevertheless will keep on moving forward for a better movie next time. Here, I wish to thank the Macam-Macam Production film crew for their hard work and dedication to make everything possible in this short film.
Please enjoy the shorts.
Cheers~
