Mega Ramadan Buffet at Grand Margherita – Macam-Macam Ada

About a week ago, a few of us from Sarawak Bloggers were exclusively invited to the Macam-Macam Ada, Mega Ramadan Buffet at the Grand Margherita Hotel, Kuching. Thanks to Mr. Kim and the hotel for inviting us for the buffet review.

Yes! It’s this time of the year again, but this year is a little different from the previous years. This year, our team is invited to review the Ramadan buffet at one of the famous hotel in town, the Grand Margherita hotel. I can’t say ‘No’ when it comes to food review. Be it at the hotel, restaurant, cafe, sidewalk stalls or street food. I guess, that’s why guillotine is listed as one of the seven sin *shiver…shiver…*.

Anyway, most of the team arrived at the hotel around 6.45pm and were escorted to our reserved table by the pool side at the Orchid Garden Restaurant. Despite the sizzling hot weather, we compensate it by feasting our eyes over the foods and various dishes.

Shortly after having our seat and place settled, we make a quick round through the Penang Street section which was just next to us, overseeing our table. Let’s see what they have to offer.

This Penang Prawn Noodle is really spicy. Make sure you ONLY request for the chili when you can handle it.

I can't really remember if this sweet sauced tofu / Rojak Tofu was also taken from the Penang Street section, but it was really nice.

Apart from the Penang Street section, there are also the Cambodia Street, Middle East section, Grill & Satay section and the Indian corner lined up at the Orchid Garden restaurant buffet area. Unfortunately, we can’t really get a good photo of the dishes because people were coming in as early as 6pm for the breaking fast / Iftar time. Owh! there is also the famous Gula Apong ice-cream served during the buffet.

Now, let us see what else were on our table that evening. There were too many to choose, but my preference was the Beef Shawarma and of course the cold plates seafood and sushi.

This fried Squid Ring is really crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I love it very much. There are Baby Squid and Cold Beef Cuts in Egg too.

The feast, fun and laughter continues until there were less people at the restaurant. Before I forgot, there are also Italian station inside the Orchid Garden restaurant which serves Pizza, Pasta and Spaghetti for those wanting to try freshly made Italian delicacies. Although, that evening we only manage to try their thin crust pizza.

So, what do we normally do after a full meal feast like this?

Noooo! Having more fun with each other of course.
