Saturday Dinner Buffet At Aurora Court

About a few Saturday nights ago, I got an invitation from Merdeka Palace Hotel & Suites to have a review on their newly introduced signature buffet, the Aurora Saturday Dinner Buffet. Beginning 17th October 2015, diners are very much welcome to experience this new signature buffet with all sort of smoked and grilled delicacies to choose from. Ranging from western to local delights, diners will certainly satisfy with the servings.

Entering the restaurant, one will not miss the must-have, Hickory Smoked Lamb Shoulder at the carving station.

Beside the Hickory Smoked Lamb Shoulder, the succulent rotisserie duck is the next best attraction on the carving station. Combine with the honey lemon sauce, this will be one irresistible serving for your plate.

Now, let’s start by walking down the salad counter. The Saturday Dinner Buffet promise a variety of local and western choices of salad and appetizer from the very well known rojak, gado-gado, ulam-ulaman with sambal belacan or cincalok. You can also have choices of appetizers such as the acar and kerabu dishes too.

This local dish famously known as Umai is a must try selection from the appetizer counter.

If you want something more freshly prepared and delicate, don’t forget the Mongolian BBQ station. This station have a spread of fresh ingredients such as vegetables, chicken, squid, fish fillet, beef, chicken frank, cocktail sausages and more. Just pick your choice and let the chef knows how you want it to be served.

Here’s our dish prepared by the talented chef from the Mongolian BBQ station. Some chicken, sausage and franks, beef and lamb ready for dinner.

As for the soup, different menu of soups are available every week from the Soup Kettle. The list goes from Soto Ayam, Szechuan Hot & Sour Soup, or the Sup Tulang Kambing. Of course these soups are best served with Aurora’s homemade bread, or just having them on its own.

Apart from the soup, there are selections of hot dishes served in the buffet, namely Braised Mutton with Masalla Spice and Tomato, Oxtail Rendang and Steamed Whole Red Talapia.

Among the menu served at the buffet, probably the most sought after dish was the Chicken Rice. Whether it is roasted or steamed, serve it alongside its soup and sauce, it will soon be your favorite.

last but not least, don’t forget to taste the various selections of French pastries, homemade Malay kuih, puddings, Crème brûlée, jellies, ice cream, DIY ais kacang, fresh fruits and many many more.

These pastries are not just sweet to the eyes but also to the mouth. Very delicious.

Personally, I was mesmerized by the fruit carvings at the fresh fruits counter.

And for the closing dish, I choose a bowl of coffee and corn ice cream topped with nuts and raisins and some fruit sticks for the mouth cleaner.

So, when can you go for this special dinner buffet and how much do you have to spend on it?

Aurora Saturday Dinner Buffet is available every Saturday from 6.30PM to 9.30PM. It is priced at RM86 nett per adult and child (5-12 years old) can enjoy a 50% off. If you go in a group of five adults, the fifth adult will enjoy a 20% off. The price is inclusive of free flow cordial drink for all diners.
