Last couple of months, I had another chance to go for an endurance ride with my cousin, Gary. Note: Not Gary the Snail from Spongebob Squarepants. That’s another Gary. For this time around, we decided to go for a 2 days 1 night riding trip covering a distance of more than 500km on a round trip. Starting from Old Baki Bazaar, 32nd Mile Kuching – Serian road to Sarikei and back to Serian town.
Our journey began from Old Baki Baazar. It was a rainy morning and we decided to have our breakfast while waiting for the rain to slow down a little bit. However, by the time we’re ready to go, it was already 8.30am. Taking the Ensengei to Sadong Jaya road, it took us less than an hour to reach our first pit stop at Kpg. Sampun.
From here, we head to the Sg. Bulu’s ferry landing. Our first ferry ride along the journey to Sarikei.
Soon, we’re at the Sg. Bulu’s ferry landing which will connect us to Sebuyau.
At this time, the clock is showing 10.17am. Which means we have been almost 2 hours away from the time we started our journey. We still have a long way to go.
Let’s go through to some sceneries and our pit stops along our journey.
The journey to Sarikei was not long from here. About an hour and half later, we finally reached Sarikei. The time was 6PM and we’re about 284km away from where we have started. We made it just in time before nightfall.
On part 2 later, I’ll tell you guys about our stay in Sarikei and the journey back to Serian. Stops and stories along the way.
See you again.
